Sea level number is merely to state how many billions evil US taxpayers will be forced to transfer to millionaires, billionaires and lazy relatives of UN profiteers

Statistics like the sea level 'number,' the worldwide drama about computing it, and dollars it will create are the spoils of victory over America.

7/15/2011, "UN Climate Body Struggling to Pinpoint Rising Sea Levels," Der Spiegel, Axel Bojanowski

"The United Nations' forecast of how quickly global sea levels will rise this century is vital in determining how much money might be needed to combat the phenomenon. But predictions by researchers

  • vary wildly, and the attempt to find consensus has become fractious.
It is a number which will ultimately establish how billions in taxpayer money will be spent."...

=========================

"637 millionaires work for the UNDP organization."

Billions of US taxpayer dollars are transferred yearly to the UN on a 'no-strings' basis. UN personnel are legally able to keep our money for their own personal use. There's evidence they do so without consequence:

10/24/12, Want to Make Millions? Try Working for the United Nations,” Front Page Mag., Daniel Greenfield

Forget big banks and the corporate life. There’s no money in those things anymore. The private sector is so 1992. But the public sector, especially the United Nations is booming.

The United Nations Development Programme is supposed to give the developing world a leg up. Instead it’s rather clear that working for the UNDP is a fast ticket to a fat bank account. Internal statistics at the UNDP show 637 millionaires work for the organization

Another 1041 UNDP staffers have home loans between 850,000 to 1.5 million dollars.

These statistics come from UNFCU, another of the UN’s endless alphabet members, but the UNFCU is the UN employee credit union. It holds 3.5 billion dollars in assets making it the 28th largest Federal credit union in the United States. That’s a small sample of

what a booming business the United Nations really is.”

Ed. note: UN personnel are above all laws, can't be prosecuted for any crime civilly or criminally, even genocide. Specifically stated, they can put all our money in personal bank accounts without consequence. Per following:

4/16/09,Federal prosecutors in New York City were forced to drop criminal and civil cases because the U.N. officials have immunity,”…The Afghanistan country director for the U.N. Office for Project Services (UNOPS), which served as the contractor on the project

for the U.N. Development Program (UNDP)

spent about $200,000

in U.S. money to renovate his guesthouse.

Witness names were withheld by USAID.”

4/16/09, “Report: U.N. spent U.S. funds on shoddy projects,” USA Today, Ken Dilanian

Do UN “agencies have immunity if they siphon (their U.S. grants) all off into Swiss banks? Is that
accurate? They will be totally immune, no matter what they do with the money?” “My understanding is, yes, Gambatesa replied.
(near end of article)

-----------------------------------------------

Ed. note: The above example cites $200,000 US taxpayer dollars being diverted for decoration of  a UN employee's personal guest house. The bigger problem obviously is the US government which is well aware this type of thing goes on, but has no interest in stopping it, doesn't demand the money's return, etc.

UN personnel charged with genocide could not be punished:

MrsLucySnowe: The international court of justice has denied allowing women from Srebrenica from suing the UN for their responsibility in the Bosnian massacre.

Srebrenica Relatives of Bosnian Muslims killed in Europe’s worst massacre since World War II lost another round Tuesday in their attempt to sue the United Nations for responsibility. The Hague Appeals Court upheld a 2008 lower court ruling

  • affirming U.N. immunity from prosecution.
“The immunity from prosecution guarantees that the U.N. is not thwarted in the execution of its duties as a result of court cases being instigated against it, possibly for no other reason than to frustrate the U.N.’s work,” the court said.

“It is in the best public interest that the U.N. can avail itself of its duties untroubled.”

Some 8,000 men were murdered in July 1995 by Serb forces who overran Srebrenica, which had been declared a U.N. safe zone for the Muslim civilians in the Bosnian enclave.

The Dutch U.N. peacekeepers protecting the enclave were undermanned and outgunned, and failed to intervene.

International courts have ruled the slayings were a genocide.

Satellites show sea level rise claims have "been seriously overestimated, with major implications for climate talks currently underway in Doha." PNAS study

PNAS study, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences

11/28/12, "New science upsets calculations on sea level rise, climate change," UK Register, Lewis Page, "Ice sheet melt massively overestimated, satellites show"

"A new analysis of data from dedicated satellites, shows that one of the main factors predicted to drive rising sea levels in future has been seriously overestimated, with major implications for climate talks currently underway in Doha.

The new methods involve filtering out noise from the data produced by the Gravity Recovery And Climate Experiment (GRACE) spacecraft, sent into orbit with the aim of finding out just how much ice is melting from the world's ice sheets and glaciers. Such water then runs off into the sea, providing one of the main potential drivers of sea level rise - which is itself perhaps the main reason to worry about climate change....

Simons and his colleague Christopher Harig tried their new methods out on GRACE data covering the Greenland ice sheet, which is of particular interest as the Arctic ice cap floats on the sea and so cannot contribute directly to sea level rise
by melting. Meanwhile the Antarctic ice cap is actually getting bigger, so Greenland is probably the major worry.

According to a Princeton statement highlighting the new research:

While overall ice loss on Greenland consistently increased between 2003 and 2010, Harig and Simons found that it was in fact very patchy from region to region.
In addition, the enhanced detail of where and how much ice melted allowed the researchers to estimate that the annual acceleration in ice loss is much lower than previous research has suggested, roughly increasing by 8 billion tons every year. Previous estimates were as high as 30 billion tons more per year.

The rate of loss of ice from Greenland is estimated at 199.72 plus-or-minus 6.28 gigatonnes per year

So the possible acceleration of losses is only barely larger than the margin of error in the readings: it's very difficult to tell the supposed loss curve from a straight line.

In other words the possible acceleration in ice losses is barely perceptible: it may not really be happening at all. Similar results were seen not long ago in GRACE data for central Asian mountain glaciers, another suggested source for sea-level rises.
If the Greenland ice losses aren't accelerating, there's no real reason to worry about them. According to the Princeton statement:
  •  At current melt rates, the Greenland ice sheet would take about 13,000 years to melt completely, which would result in a global sea-level rise of more than 21 feet (6.5 meters).

Put another way, in that scenario we would be looking at 5cm of sea level rise from Greenland by the year 2130: a paltry amount. Authoritative recent research drawing together all possible causes of sea level rise bears this out, suggesting maximum possible rise in the worst case by 2100 will be 30cm. More probably it will be less, and there will hardly be any difference between the 20th and 21st centuries in sea level terms.

The new GRACE research was published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

CO2 terror profiteers can't be humiliated, only months after being forced to admit their penguin alarmism was erroneous, they're back with another US taxpayer funded study saying Antarctic ice though plentiful may move around too much for some penguins due to CO2

NSF says penguins are the "poster children" of Antarctica."
Most penguin data is invalid per Jan. 11, 2011, Nature cover story, "Reliability of flipper-banded penguins as indicators of climate change."

----------------------------------------------------------

11/28/12, "12 Straight Months Of Above Normal Antarctic Sea Ice," Steven Goddard

"Today marks 365 consecutive days of above normal Antarctic sea ice. According to climate geniuses Jeff Masters and Bill McKitten, the odds against this are an astronomical 2^365 to one.

A few weeks ago, NSIDC featured an article explaining how declining sea ice cover threatens Penguins. Apparently they forgot to check the data before publishing that article.

------------------------------------------------------------

Earlier in 2012 US taxpayer funded (via NSF) 'researchers' had to admit their claims of penguin alarmism were erroneous:

4/13/12, "Twice as Many Emperor Penguins as Thought in Antarctica, First-Ever Penguin Count from Space Shows," Science Daily

Now that's forgotten and more US taxpayer money via NSF is spent claiming certain penguins are being killed by CO2. (Meaning Americans must pay billions).

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Citation for NSF funding by the US taxpayer for April 2012 penguin report revealing penguin population was much larger than previously estimated:

"Funding: The authors would like to acknowledge and thank funding and provision of imagery from the National Science Foundation (NSF #1043681 and #0944220) which funded the U.S. component of this work. Imagery for the UK analysis was funded by the BAS Ecosystems/predators work package and UK Overseas Territories Fund (BAT601). The funders had no role in study design, data collection and analysis, decision to publish, or preparation of the manuscript."

(BAS is funded by the U.K.'s Natural Environment Research Council.)

-------------------------------------------------------------

An 11/21/12 study alleging penguin harm due to CO2 actually took place in 2005. (See subhead 'Methods' at link. Major funding is again provided by the US taxpayer via NSF.

11/21/12,. From PlosOne.org: Funding for the penguin alarmism study published 11/21/12:

"Funding: This work was supported by NSF Grants
OPP 0229638, 0538594 and 0944220, and by funds from the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (A19255001), and the program “Bio-Logging Science of The University of Tokyo (UTBLS)”. The funders had no role in study design, data collection and analysis, decision to publish, or preparation of the manuscript."

-------------------------------------------------------------

The Nov. 2012 article below acknowledges Antarctic sea ice volume hit a record maximum in 2012 but claims there's new hope for blaming CO2 on penguin deaths. They say it's that the ice moves around and negatively affects "foraging" behavior. But the Jan. 2011 Nature
study found metal "banding" itself could change foraging. Antarctic ice shifts constantly as stated in NSIDC quotes below. It's nice of them to use our tax money via NSF to pay for CO2 research allegedly "proving" we have to pay more due to CO2.

11/21/12, "Sea ice found critical for emperor penguins' foraging," MSNBC, Becky Oskin

"Emperor penguins rely on sea ice for breeding and feeding. Shifting patterns of sea ice due to changing climate in the Antarctic could alter the penguin's behavior and ecology,  said study author Shinichi Watanabe, an animal ecologist and professor at Fukuyama University in Hiroshima, Japan.

The Antarctic sea ice hit a record maximum this year, but the sea ice distribution around the continent is changing, while the penguins nest in the same place every year.

"If penguins don't stay on the ice during foraging trips, they may not be able to sustain such long trips," Watanabe told OurAmazingPlanet.

The image of thousands of penguins shuffling across the frigid Antarctic ice was immortalized in the film "March of the Penguins."".... ..

===========================

NSIDC says Antarctic sea ice is always changing.

11/28/12, NSIDC, "All about sea ice," "Arctic vs Antarctic," "Geography:" "The Antarctic is almost a geographic opposite of the Arctic, because Antarctica is a land mass surrounded by an ocean. The open ocean allows the forming sea ice to move more freely, resulting in higher drift speeds...."Almost all of the sea ice that forms during the Antarctic winter melts during the summer."

============================

Penguins have long been exploited to sell CO2 terror (which Americans must pay for):

'Per WWF,' global warming killing off penguins. "The Emperor is thought to be the most vulnerable of all Antarctic species to climate change."

12/11/2007, "Penguins now threatened by global warming," UK Telegraph, Paul Eccleston

"Global warming is threatening one of the most endearing symbols of Antarctica - the penguin....

The environmental conservation group WWF is warning that rising temperatures and the resulting loss of sea ice is robbing the emblematic birds of the nesting grounds they need to breed successfully....

The most vulnerable of the four species at risk is the biggest, the Emperor...

Emily Lewis-Brown said: "The UN climate change summit underway in Bali must agree a process now which results in comprehensive, ambitious, and fair global emission reduction targets beyond the current phase of Kyoto which ends in 2012. It's vital that governments agree upon a clear, shared vision to keep global warming to less than 2°C above pre-industrial levels."

The charity also wants to see international action to protect Antarctica from other pressures such as fisheries and tourism."...

===========================

7/13/2009, "Climate Change Likely to Devastate Emperor Penguin Populations in Antarctica," NSF.gov, "Survival of species could be threatened"

"You might call them the "poster children" of Antarctica. Penguins have long topped the charts as the iconic animal of the frozen continent.
But now, a new study indicates melting sea ice, caused by climate change, may soon wreak havoc on one colony of emperor penguins--and that could spell doom for a large swath
  • of the entire species."...
----------------------------------------

Of course the NSF is admittedly unable to do its job anyway.

----------------------------------------

Without dying penguins, thousands of people would lose their jobs especially in academia. EU carbon trading would fall further in the tank. The UK monarchy would collapse. Organized crime would be angry. Ordinary Americans can't seem to understand that they should shut the hell up.

Ed. note: Continents moved about long before the US existed and will continue to do so. The Antarctic is seen as money in the bank because the government has limitless access to US taxpayer money to send "teams" of researchers there, and the teams aren't about to come back and say, sorry no global warming. The point is to silence ordinary Americans and keep them that way. The Civilized World has a leader again, Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of of Canada: 'The ideology of anti-Israel mob is a threat to all of us.' Told Abbas, Canadian consequences await his continued pursuit of UN statehood

11/27/12, "Harper took steps to stifle Palestinian statehood bid," Globe and Mail, Campbell Clark

"Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his government have intervened to pressure the Palestinian Authority to drop its bid for upgraded status at the United Nations, further cementing Canada’s transition into one of Israel’s firmest allies.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, rebuffed in an attempt last year to have the 15-member UN Security Council recognize a Palestinian state, on Thursday is planning to ask all countries at the UN to approve Palestinian status as a non-member observer state on Thursday – a bid Israel staunchly opposes.

Eight weeks ago, when he was in New York to accept an award from a private organization, Mr. Harper took a drive across the city as countries assembled for the opening of the new session of the UN General Assembly to have a short, brusque meeting with Mr. Abbas.

In a little room at the United Nations, Mr. Harper skipped most of the pleasantries in a 15-minute meeting, according to sources briefed on the session, and told Mr. Abbas he had come to deliver a message:

If you keep doing what you’re doing, he said – referring to the Palestinian bid for upgraded status “there will be consequences.”

It was just one part of the bare-knuckle approach Canada has taken toward the UN bid, though largely out of public view....

Mr. Abbas’s Fatah is the faction that the West prefers, but the quick consensus in the Middle East is that Hamas “resistance” has won ground in public opinion during the week of Israeli airstrikes in Gaza, and moderate Fatah has been weakened, including in the West Bank....

The United States and Canada have listed Hamas as a terrorist organization.
Fatah, founded by Yasser Arafat, has been more or less encouraged: the Palestinian Authority gets aid from Washington and Ottawa and its de facto diplomats are received in both capitals. So far.

A source said the Canadian government has warned the Palestinian Authority’s representatives that their “embassy” in Ottawa – in fact a delegation office, because Palestine isn’t a state –
  • might be closed, and the Palestinian envoy, Said Hamad, sent home.
In addition, Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird has told several people, including Palestinian representatives, that he’ll travel to New York to personally cast the vote against the UN bid, several sources said.

There are more serious potential aspects to the “consequences” about which Mr. Harper warned: cutting off money. Ottawa pledged $300-million in aid over five years starting in 2008, and that period is about to run out....

Mr. Abbas launched a bid for full UN membership last year, but that required approval of the 15-member Security Council, and it was stifled with the U.S. threatening a veto. Now he plans to return Nov. 29 with proposal to have the General Assemblyin a vote he is expected to win handily – grant “non-member observer state” status. The key word is state, for its symbolic value and because it might open doors to UN agencies and the International Criminal Court....

The U.S. is against it, and the Harper government has lobbied vociferously. Others, such as Britain, have also asked them to delay, arguing it is “not helpful” now. Mr. Abbas has been undeterred. His officials have said they’re willing to negotiate with Israel, but only once they win a “victory” at the UN....

Mr. Harper’s government has worked to derail Mr. Abbas’s plan, along with the U.S., Israel, and a few others."... via Mark Levin show

"Harper has long been recognized a strong friend of the Jewish state.

"[W]hen Israel, the only country in the world whose very existence is under attack, is consistently and conspicuously singled out for condemnation, I believe we are morally obligated to take a stand," Harper said last year.

Harper said Canada must oppose demonization, double standards and de-legitimization.

"Not just because it is the right thing to do, but because history shows us, and the ideology of the anti-Israel mob tell us all too well, that those who threaten the existence of the Jewish people

are in the longer term a threat to all of us," he said.

"Whether it is at the United Nations or any other international forum, the easiest thing to do is simply to just get along and go along with this anti-Israel rhetoric, to pretend it is just about being even-handed, and to excuse oneself with the label of honest broker," Harper added. The Canadian prime minister further affirmed that "as long as I am prime minister… Canada will take not that stand, whatever the cost." via Atlas Shrugs

Hawaiian biomass producer Big Island Carbon files chap. 7 bankruptcy, failed effort to turn macadamia nut shells into activated carbon

11/27/12, "Biomass producer Big Island Carbon files Chapter 7 bankruptcy," Pacific Business News, J. Magin

"Big Island Carbon LLC, which spent some $50 million to build a biomass plant to turn Hawaii-grown macadamia nut shells into granulated activated carbon, has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

The company, which has not started commercial operations at the Kawaihae plant, has laid off all 25 employees, including CEO Rick Vidgen, who was let go on Oct. 9 along with Chief Operating Officer Fred Baker and Controller Gerald Gruber, according to documents filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware, where the bankruptcy was filed on Nov. 5....

Big Island Carbon listed secured claims of $16.4 million, which includes a $5 million loan from Synergy Bank in McKinney, Texas, and $11.4 million in principal and interest to Kona Investment Holdings LLC, an entity created by Boston-based Denham Capital Management, which is the project’s majority owner and secured lender.

Adam Carte, an operating partner for Denham Capital, said the Big Island Carbon project — whose price tag started at $20 million before more than doubling to $50 million — ran out of funding, and the board of directors chose to file for bankruptcy while still searching for new investors."...via Free Republic

2011 Thailand floods had nothing to do with climate change says NOAA, UK Met Office study. AlertNet and Germanwatch erroneously claim Thailand floods due to CO2 and ‘developed’ countries must pay, Doha should make them pay

'Most recent global temperature record, released this week, shows avg. global temp. fell in 2011 for 2nd year in a row,' The Australian, Lloyd

11/24/12, "World Leaders Face Riddle Of Lack Of Warming," The Australian, Graham Lloyd

"The most recent global temperature record, released this week, shows the average global temperature fell last year for the second year. There is now general agreement that the rising trend has stalled.

Around Doha, the capital of Qatar, which boasts the world’s highest per capita carbon emissions, ramshackle humpies made of car tyres and recycled shipping pallets are springing up amid the city’s shiny skyscrapers.

Together with a fleet of low-cost electric cars to ferry the A-list, the low-cost buildings are the organisers’ eye-popping way to draw attention to the UN’s annual climate change conference that kicks off on Monday.

In keeping with Doha’s immaculately manicured image, the most common expression on eco-friendly portals has been surprise that it was possible to recycle anything in the Arabian sheikdom.

It is a mixed message that illustrates the state of global climate change negotiations. As usual, a raft of reports restating dire predictions has been released to coincide with the conference.

The World Meteorological Organisation confirmed atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide had risen to 390.9 parts a million, the highest on record.

A World Bank-commissioned report, Turn Down the Heat, warned that mankind was on track for a 4C warmer world, marked by extreme heatwaves, declining global food stocks, loss of ecosystems and biodiversity, and life-threatening sea-level rise.

The research was undertaken by the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research and mirrors the warnings of many institutions, including Australia’s Climate Commission. A UN Environment Program report said countries were not doing enough to keep the world from warming 2C above pre-industrial levels.

“Not only are nations failing to close the gap between their actions and the two degrees goal,” says Union of Concerned Scientists director Alden Meyer, “but the gap is actually widening.”

Last month’s Hurricane Sandy, which flooded New York City, has been widely cited as evidence that climate change is about bigger storms, not just higher temperatures. For climate change campaigners this is fortunate because the most recent global temperature record, released this week, shows the average global temperature fell last year for the second year.

The decline is not considered statistically significant – temperatures remain well above the long-term average – and is explained by the strong La Nina weather patterns that caused rain havoc across eastern Australia. But it is nonetheless counter-intuitive to claims that global temperatures are spinning out of control, just as increasing ice cover in Antarctica runs counter to the high level of scientific concern at increased ice melt in the Arctic.

The Antarctic ice growth does not necessarily undermine anxiety about the melting ice in the Arctic, but it does highlight the fact gaps remain in scientific understanding and that climate models don’t always work.

The British Met Bureau was forced to furiously deny reports in Britain last month that the latest temperature data showed global warming stopped 16 years ago.

The bureau argues the trend is still unambiguously up, with global surface temperatures having risen by about 0.8C in the past 140 years. “However, within this record there have been several periods lasting a decade or more during which temperatures have risen very slowly or cooled,” the bureau said. “The current period of reduced warming is not unprecedented and 15-year-long periods are not unusual.”

In short, there is agreement that the rising trend has stalled..

Many scientists accept there are natural processes at work that are not properly factored into the global temperature models.

German environmentalist Fritz Vahrenholt, a former Social Democrat Party senator, founder of wind-energy company REpower and president of the German Wildlife Foundation, has been particularly outspoken.

“According to the IPCC climate models, there should be an increase in global temperature of 0.2C per decade,” he says.

“But if you look at the data series of satellite-based temperature measurements and the data from the British Hadley Centre (HadCRUT), you find that since 1998 there has been no warming; the temperature has remained at a plateau. We know how mainstream climate scientists would answer this question: 15 years is not a climate signal; it must happen for 30 years,” Vahrenholt says, “But there must be an explanation for the unexpected absence of warming.”

Vahrenholt’s answer is that the exclusion of solar activity and decadal oscillations from climate models leads to erroneous results. Vahrenholt’s point is not that climate change shouldn’t be addressed but that fear-driven energy policy works against the interests of nature, the poor and economic good sense. He says there is time to find solutions that work.

This is the background against which governments will meet in Doha to negotiate a globally binding agreement to cut carbon emissions, as agreed at last year’s meeting in Cape Town, South Africa.
First, the developed world must decide what it wants to do about a second commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol.

After linking to the European carbon trading scheme, Australia has agreed to sign up to a Kyoto II, but Japan, Canada, Russia and New Zealand have said they are out.

Australia’s Climate Institute deputy chief executive Erwin Jackson says there are three possible outcomes from Doha.

One is the collapse of talks, with Kyoto II falling over and the Bali Action Plan, where countries pledge carbon cuts, faltering.

Another possibility is that parties simply agree to keep talking.

Jackson says he is mildly confident of a focused outcome in which amendments are made to implement a second commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol, and the Bali Action Plan negotiations are closed. Such an outcome would allow talks to be integrated into a single track towards a global legally binding agreement.

The timetable set last year was for details of an agreement to be set by 2015, to take effect from 2020. Key, as always, will be the actions of the US, China and India, each motivated by its own self-interest.

The world’s biggest carbon dioxide emitter, China, is keen to show good faith to deflect attention from its phenomenal rate of growth and emissions. But despite signing on to negotiations for a global treaty, China remains fiercely protective of preserving the ethic of “differentiated responsibility” between developed and developing countries.

As does India, which remains concerned primarily with achieving energy security as it struggles to lift hundreds of millions of its people out of poverty. India reluctantly agreed to the Cape Town agreement last year because it did not want to be seen as wrecker.

And despite the hype that a post-Sandy Obama administration will restart action on climate change, the biggest challenge may be keeping the US inside the UN framework.

The Obama administration reportedly is considering taking the action away from the annual UN climate summit into the Major Economies Forum, a platform of the world’s largest CO2 emitters.
Such a move would leave the UN process with little more than the symbolism of a Doha humpy."

Per NOAA data, no unusual sea level rise in NY NJ area for past 150+ years, meaning Sandy storm wasn't made worse by abnormally high sea levels caused by excess CO2 as PBS and others falsely claim. NYC taxpayers are saved $20 billion for alleged anti-Sandy CO2 terror "infrastructure" panting politicos and 'investors' have long envisioned in their Cayman accounts

11/25/12, "Climate Twit," by Steven Goddard, Real Science

"Sea level rise has averaged 30 inches per century over the last 15,000 years – which means that the past century had much less sea level rise than average. Tide gauges in New York and New Jersey show no acceleration over the last 160 years....

"Twitter / KHayhoe: 1. Sea level is 7″ higher now …"...

How did Katherine determine that the small warm area east of New Jersey was caused by “climate change?” Did climate change miss the unusually cold water around Alaska, New Zealand and South America? Hayhoe’s second comment also shows that she is either incompetent or dishonest.

Ed. note: On Sat., 11/24/12, PBS ran a NOVA program about recent super storm Sandy which concluded of course that "billions" more dollars must be transferred from already strapped US taxpayers to the glittering global warming "infrastructure" industry so dear to CO2 billionaires like Mayor Bloomberg. In its portrayal of Sandy PBS continued its advocacy for the multi-trillion dollar CO2 terror industry. The program said you can't say one weather event is due to global warming (ie excess CO2) but we CAN say for sure global warming or climate change (ie excess CO2) has caused sea levels to rise and that caused Sandy to be worse (as stated here). The narrator said warmer temperatures from global warming cause warmer oceans and warm water takes up more volume. He concluded that cities must spend "billions" on infrastructure because of extra sea level rise (due to CO2). It was also stated on the program that sea level has risen in New York a foot in the last century. It wasn't stated as if this were normal, but as if it were frightening. As noted in link above,

NOAA data says sea level has NOT risen at an above normal rate in the New York/New Jersey area for at least the past 156 years.

There are several PBS/NOVA Sandy links, I'm not sure which connects to the tv show on 11/24 but this example repeats their mantra that it's an indisputable fact that man caused global warming exists (ie CO2 terror) and is causing rising sea levels which is what made Sandy as bad as it was.

Not mentioned by PBS is an indisputable fact that negates their whole NYC CO2 terror thesis, which is that US CO2 emissions have plunged dramatically over the past 20 years to the point where experts expect US energy policy will change to reflect that US CO2 emissions aren't the concern they once were. Therefore even if CO2 does cause rising sea levels,
Not to worry, the US gov. continues to send billions of US taxpayer dollars to foreign countries
for no-strings "climate" projects...despite whining to the contrary by "global climate convention" jet setters.

11/15/12, "Hurricanes and Climate Change," PBS, Nova, McQuaid

Subhead: "A Dangerous Future"

"Hurricanes do most of their damage with high winds and storm surges. The global warming effect on the former is debated, but the latter isn't. Global sea levels have risen approximately 1.7 mm per year between 1950 and 2009, and at an accelerated pace of 3.3 mm from 1993 on. This is due to climatic changes. Warmer water expands, melting ice puts more water in the ocean, and rainfall patterns have shifted. Sea level rise is worse in some places than others. As fate would have it, the Northeast Atlantic coast is one of those unfortunate locations. One recent study showed that sea levels from North Carolina to Canada have been rising at three to four times the global average since 1950. By definition, higher seas mean higher storm surges."...

...And ever more billions of hard earned US middle class taxpayer dollars to billionaire CO2 terror profiteers such as the Sultan of Brunei and Mayor Bloomberg.
In addition to lavish spending at 13 federal agencies tasked with 'climate' endeavors.

NYC Mayor Hopeful and Bloomberg ally Quinn of course says $20 billion hard earned tax dollars must be spent on "infrastructure" to deal with the next "Sandy."
She doesn't mention this will also keep billionaire CO2 terror profiteer/gamblers from going bankrupt.

8/16/12, “AP IMPACT: CO2 emissions in US drop to 20-year low,” AP, Kevin Begos

In a surprising turnaround, the amount of carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere in the U.S. has fallen dramatically to its lowest level in 20 years, and government officials say the biggest reason is that cheap and plentiful natural gas has led many power plant operators to switch from dirtier-burning coal.

Many of the world’s leading climate scientists didn’t see the drop coming, in large part because it happened as a result of market forces rather than direct government action against carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas that traps heat in the atmosphere.

Michael Mann, director of the Earth System Science Center at Penn State University, said the shift away from coal is reason for “cautious optimism” about potential ways to deal with climate change….

In a little-noticed technical report, the U.S. Energy Information Agency, a part of the Energy Department, said this month that energy related U.S. CO2 emissions for the first four months of this year fell to about 1992 levels. Energy emissions make up about 98 percent of the total.

The Associated Press contacted environmental experts, scientists and utility companies and learned that

virtually everyone believes the shift could have major long-term implications for U.S. energy policy.”…

"The Obama administration has requested $770 million in federal funds to combat the effects of global warming in developing countries, a new congressional report details, continuing its policy of using foreign aid to combat the effects of global warming in the developing world.

The figure, from a recent report from the Congressional Research Service (CRS), shows that despite another year of $1 trillion deficits, the Obama administration continues to pursue its policy of using foreign aid funds for anti-global warming measures – known as the Global Climate Change Initiative (GCCI).

According to CRS, the government has spent a total of $2.5 billion on GCCI since 2010 on overseas anti-global warming efforts in Latin America, Asia, and Africa."...

Global Warming 'action' was institutionalized in US government in 1990 by George Bush the 1st in the "U.S. Global Change Research Act of 1990." CO2 is mentioned near the end.

Devoting 13 US federal agencies to 'climate' endeavors today if anything is likely wasted and uncoordinated climate "action."

Nov. 2012, “World’s top investors call for action on climate change,“ link2portal.com

Groups representing the world’s largest investors have published an open letter addressed to governments of the world’s largest economies
calling for a new dialogue on climate change policy in order to avert dangerous climate change and its resulting economic impacts.

The letter, from the America-based Ceres, announced ahead of the United Nations climate negotiations starting on 26th November in Doha, calls for:

Clear, consistent and predictable policies that encourage low carbon investment;

knowledge sharing between governments on effective climate and clean energy policies, building on successful existing national and regional measures;

stronger international agreements that send clear market signals about the future of climate policy and reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.”…

It will be rigged in advance."...

For them, the spectacle of a looming world energy crisis was good news. It justified huge subsidies for solar and wind power (and thereby guaranteed huge fortunes for clever green-oriented investors). ...But those glory days are over now, and the smarter environmentalists are bowing to the inevitable."...
